to any single method for trace-element analyses. In regard to whether the method is applicable to serum or plasma with abnormal viscosity: our method was not developed for the analysis of serum. Plasma is the preferred sample, for reasons previously reported (1, 8). However, for samples diluted fivefold the aspiration rates for plasma and serum are identical. We have not studied plasma with abnormal viscosity. We are puzzled by Dr. Kelson’s wish for new data on the “effectsof ions on the standards.” Such studies have been repeatedly documented in the literature. We find relevance, however, in the effect of ions added to the plasma matrix, as might occur in disease states, a study which we previously reported (9) and referred to in our method. The interference from protein or other nondialyzable components of serum, which Dr. Kelson states may be expected with all direct dilution methods, was not evident in our studies. Lastly, we do agree that the “evaluation of methods is hindered by the absence of an accepted reference method” and urge that a standard reference plasma for zinc analysis be developed. We trust that our work, and indeed the work of Dr. Kelson and others, will stimulate concurrence for the necessity of a Selected Method for plasma zinc that will serve well the needs of clinical chemistry.

Preparation and biodistribution assessment of low specific activity 177Lu-DOTATOC for optimization studies
Introduction: Somatostatin receptors expressed on a wide range of human tumors, are potential targets for the peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT). In this study, 177Lu-[DOTA-DPhe1, Tyr3]octreotide (177Lu-DOTATOC) as an agent for PRRT was prepared and its biodistribution was studied in rats. Methods:The ...

Objective(s): The objectives of this work was to assess the benefits of the application of Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) models in patients with different neuroendocrine tumours (NET) who were treatedwith Lu-177 DOTATATE. The model utilises clinical data on biodistribution of radiolabeled peptides (RLPs) obtained by whole body scintigraphy (WBS) of the patients. Methods: The blood...
متن کاملSynthesis of La1-xSrxAlO3 Perovskites by Reverse Strike Co-Precipitation Method and Its Soot Oxidation Activity
La1-xSrxAlO3 (x=0 to 0.4) perovskite materials were synthesized by the reverse strike co-precipitation method and their soot oxidation activity was evaluated. All the catalysts synthesized were characterized using XRD, BET specific surface area, FESEM and XPS techniques. As analyzed by XRD, La1-xSrxAlO3 <...
متن کاملRadiosynthesis and evaluation of ytterbium-175 labeled bleomycin as therepeutic agent
Introduction: Bleomycins are DNA-binding biomolecules, which can be used as targeted therapy carriers when labeled with particle-emitters such as Yb-175. In this work the development of Yb-175 bleomycin (175Yb-BLM) has been reported. Methods: Yb-175 chloride was obtained by thermal neutron irradiation (3 × 1013 n.cm-2.s-1) of natural Yb2O<...
متن کاملUnderstanding the Mechanism Underlie the Antidiabetic Activity of Oleuropein Using Ex-Vivo Approach
Background: Oleuropein, the main constituent of olive fruit and leaves, has been reported to protect against insulin resistance and diabetes. While many experimental investigations have examined the mechanisms by which oleuropein improves insulin resistance and diabetes, much of these investigations have been carried out in either muscle cell lines or in vivo models two scenarios with many draw...
